Bio
Carter Alcazar has been training at Corsair since he was 16. Now at 22, he has years of consistent training in BJJ and kickboxing and still competes while he teaches—so kids on the mat are learning from someone in the same grind, not a distant lecture.
Carter is an ADCC Open bronze medalist and has represented Corsair in no-gi competition, including ADCC youth divisions and NAGA. He teaches technique, but he also teaches the part parents care about: showing up, handling nerves, bouncing back after a tough round, and treating training like a long path instead of a single medal.
Under Carter, young grapplers in Elgin get a coach who still walks the student path—blue belt, competitor, teammate. That combination is useful in kids BJJ and kickboxing: clear drills, high energy, and a realistic picture of what progress looks like between white belt and the next stripe.
